 Folkworks is an educational charity specialising in the folk arts, both from the UK and from around the world.  Based in Newcastle, much of its work takes place in the area funded by Northern Arts Board, though recent additional funding has allowed projects nationally.  Their programme includes tours of arts centres, theatres, schools, folk clubs plus schools projects ranging from one -day events to long-term artists residencies.  They also publish resource packs.  Contact:  David Oliver (Education Officer)  Tel 0191 222 1717,  Fax 0191 2302484.
